Liu Changzhan, Chairman of Kunming Kelin Light Industry Machinery Co., Ltd., accompanied by the company’s senior management, paid a visit to and inspected the Fumin County Food Waste Harmless Treatment Station.

At 10:10 a.m. on July 20, 2021, Liu Changzhan, Chairman of Kunming Kelin Light Industry Machinery Co., Ltd., accompanied by senior management personnel, paid visits to the Fumin Campus of Kunming No. 1 Middle School, Kunming Xingzhi Middle School, and the kitchen waste harmless treatment station at Shangheyuan Market for inspection and evaluation. Chairman Liu Changzhan of Kelin Light Industry, along with other senior executives, participated in this inspection.

Mr. Liu and his delegation visited the pilot sites of the bio‑treatment project for kitchen waste at Kunming No. 1 Middle School Fumin Campus, Kunming Xingzhi Middle School, and the Shangheyuan Market. At each site, they received a detailed briefing from Liu Wenrui, manager of an environmental‑technology company, gaining an in-depth understanding of the project’s construction progress and operational performance.

More than half of food waste originates from unnecessary consumption—ranging from leftover meals to large portions of vegetable leaves, peels from fruits and vegetables, and produce that has spoiled or been infested with pests. Much of this is simply discarded, and when mixed with other municipal solid waste, it leads to significant inefficiencies in waste management. Proper handling of food waste can effectively harness reusable resources, advance environmental protection efforts, and foster sustainable socio‑economic development. The bio‑processing equipment offered by Keling Light Industry integrates oil‑water separation, exhaust‑gas purification, and fermentation into a single system. It not only converts food waste into organic fertilizer but also recovers waste oils for use as biodiesel feedstock and other valuable resources, maximizing resource utilization. This approach aligns with the national policy on waste sorting and environmental stewardship, enabling on‑site reduction, harmless treatment, and resource recovery of food waste. By facilitating local processing of household food waste, it significantly eases the burden on municipal kitchen‑waste treatment facilities and reduces pressure on end‑of‑line disposal. In doing so, it lightens the strain on a society grappling with resource scarcity while contributing to a cleaner, healthier community environment.
