The company conducted its 2018 annual work summary.

　　Kelin Light Industry’s 2018 annual work summary concluded successfully in recent days. The summary process was conducted in two phases: the first phase took place over three afternoons, from December 26 to 28, 2018, with middle-level and senior management personnel divided into three groups for discussion; the second phase involved a plenary summary meeting held on January 5–6, 2019.

　　During the first-phase breakout sessions, mid‑level and senior managers actively shared their perspectives and engaged in lively discussions. Participants reviewed their own work, offered suggestions and insights on existing issues in company management, and, in particular, put forward numerous constructive recommendations regarding the Geda project management and the celebrations marking the company’s 50th anniversary.

　　At the summary conference for the second phase, Comrade Liu Changzhan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of the company, delivered the 2018 annual summary report on behalf of the enterprise’s leadership team, titled “Braving Wind and Rain on the Journey Forward, Forging Brilliance Through Steadfast Endeavor.” The report covered such topics as China’s economic outlook, the forty-year journey of reform and opening-up, the global sugar industry landscape, challenges in corporate management, the status of the Geda Project, recommendations for managerial personnel, arrangements for the factory’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, and aspirations for 2019.

　　In his report, Chairman Liu reviewed and summarized the company’s achievements over the past year in production and operations, corporate management, and product quality improvement, while also identifying the key issues that remain. He noted that last year the company achieved an output value of RMB 300 million, broadly meeting contractual requirements but falling short of the targets set at the beginning of the year. Order intake was constrained by the signing of the Geda project contract at the end of 2018; had it not been for this delay, the planned objectives would have been met as well. The Technology Center has fully implemented 3D design, significantly elevating the company’s design capabilities. The office OA system is being rolled out according to schedule and is expected to provide meaningful support to business management. A portfolio of new products has been introduced to the market, with positive results gradually emerging. 2018 was a year of robust shipment volumes, with the new plant playing a decisive role. After years of effort by relevant authorities, the Fumin New Plant has finally passed environmental impact assessment. The company successfully completed its seventh recertification under the ISO 9000 quality management system and was recognized as a high‑quality enterprise. The Foundry Branch was awarded the title of “National Advanced Collective in the Light Industry.” Furthermore, the project “Innovative R&D and Demonstration of CNC Technology for Sugar‑Making Machinery” has been completed—marking the company’s first undertaking of a national-level scientific and technological challenge. In addition, the headquarters relocation proceeded smoothly, performance‑based evaluation was implemented, significant progress was made in workplace safety, and the company successfully delivered a number of EPC projects.

　　When discussing the company’s existing issues, Chairman Liu noted that execution remains inadequate and that labor discipline and employee conduct still fall short. In recent years, to boost production capacity, the company has acquired substantial new equipment; however, our mindset has not yet kept pace with how to manage, operate, and maintain this equipment, a gap that became evident during the recent quality‑system audit. Additionally, further efforts are needed to refine inspection‑extension procedures and strengthen risk‑control measures. On the shop floor, management practices continue to lag, and there is insufficient awareness of product quality—so much so that even obvious defects went undetected. In 2018 alone, the total cost of rework and corrective actions reached RMB 2.587 million. Furthermore, the technical design function lacks unified design standards, and progress in product standardization and formalization has been excessively slow.

　　Regarding the 25 constructive suggestions put forward by management cadres in their summaries, Chairman Liu, at the closing meeting, designated the responsible departments and individuals and set forth specific requirements. Following consolidation and organization by the Company Party Committee, these were formally issued in writing, with a mandate for regular implementation.

　　The summary report indicates that, in 2019, the company aims to achieve an output value exceeding RMB 300 million and secure orders worth more than RMB 180 million, while striving to sign one turnkey engineering project. Moving forward, we will continue to uphold the company’s development strategy—“technology‑driven, innovation‑powered, service‑oriented, and leveraging turnkey projects to foster all‑round enterprise growth”—and adhere to our business strategy of “providing services in Yunnan, developing markets in Guangxi, and generating profits overseas.” We will steadfastly pursue a path tailored to the company’s unique developmental needs. Practice has demonstrated that this strategy is both sound and feasible, paving the way for sustained progress. Looking ahead at Yunnan’s electromechanical industry, Kelin Light Industry is leveraging its distinctive strengths to take a leading position in sectoral advancement.

　　We have ushered in 2019. As the new year begins, China will celebrate the 70th anniversary of its founding, and Kelin Light Industry will mark the 50th anniversary of its establishment—truly a cause for celebration. In the year ahead, we will face fresh market challenges. Let us unite as one, forge ahead with determination, and overcome every obstacle, propelling Kelin Light Industry to new heights in the annals of corporate development!

　　At the closing ceremony, a plaque‑presentation ceremony was held for the Geda Project Team, and departments that contributed to safe and civilized production in 2018 were commended and rewarded.
